This sweet little bird and flower was completed during my artist residency at Camp MoxyJos in April 2024. Being inspired by being immersed in nature was an amazing experience and this window painting is an example of some of the phenomenal work I made while I was there. Started with a watercolor painting of the hummingbird. Then collaged some pages from a children’s book from 1905 on parts of the glass and added in acrylic the flower with the center strategically being where a couple cracks meet in the center pane of glass for subtle composition.
This piece measures approximately 16”x35” Giving me reminders of a slightly overgrown but thriving garden with the songbirds to go with it.
This one is painted on reclaimed wood and is pretty sturdy! If you aren’t local to Tacoma, will send a separate invoice for shipping.
